Il Pontile

Introducing Il Pontile, an exciting new dining destination on Sydney’s iconic Woolloomooloo Wharf .

Il Pontile aims to reinvigorate the restaurant scene in the Emerald City as it opens up after months of lockdown.

Il Pontile, “the pier in Italian”, was conceived during the hospitality industry’s most challenging time Covid-19 and will launch to a much eagerly awaited NSW re-opening and the rebirth of Sydney dining on the world famous wharf location.

Inspired by its Italian namesake, Il Pontile will offer guests a high quality menu representing all the regions of Italy with a strong focus on fresh seafood and the best of local produce. Helmed by fourth generation Italian restaurauteur and Chef Mario Percuoco, Il Pontile will debut with dishes from Naples, a nod to Chef Mario’s birthplace, traditional meals prepared fresh with an innovative twist. Cuisine from other Italian regions including Tuscany, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Liguria, Sicily, Piedmont, Puglia, Lombardy, Abruzzo and Calabria to name a few will also be offered every few weeks with special plates showcasing that particular region’s dishes allowing patrons to sample the finest of Italian cuisine.

A point of difference at Il Pontile will be its seasonal menu which Chef Mario promises will reflect the superior ingredients used to prepare and present dishes to its clientele. Australia is renowned for its quality produce and this will be highlighted in all dishes at Il Pontile.
The idyllic waterside setting of Il Pontile along with its spectacular CBD skyline and authentic quality menu will ensure its place among Sydney’s finest upmarket restaurants.

Set over two levels Il Pontile exudes sophistication and luxury, its architecture a reflection of Italian style, with a décor of sandstone, chandeliers and an earthy colour palette throughout.

Whether ensconced in the elegant inside or seated al fresco enjoying the beautiful Sydney weather and people watching on the wharf, Il Pontile customers will experience a world class setting.

Il Pontile will delight visual and culinary senses with its Chef’s Table, a restaurant feature which is sure to be popular with discerning diners. The Chef’s Table will create an intimate setting for small groups of people to enjoy delicious dishes chosen and prepared by Chef Mario enhancing their dining experience with an element of surprise.

A glass cellar in the middle of the restaurant on ground level will showcase an impressive selection of wines to be enjoyed and pared with dishes on the menu. An experienced front of house team will ensure all guests a memorable time. On the top floor a VIP dining room will be available for private celebrations and events.
A welcome addition to Woollomooloo’s restaurant row, Il Pontile will certainly bring back ‘la dolce vita’ to Sydney’s popular dining precinct.
