Kala and Srini have been part of the Sunshine coast for the past 8 years. Their passion to share their cuisine to the locals brought them to their first venture Chennai Xpress in sippy downs, once this business grew, it was brought close to where they live, and rebranded as Down the Silk Road, to have a fusion cuisine, as most locals were not able to handle the full strength of spices, on how it is used back home.

They were teachers back home, now are spending their free time with their son, daughter in law, and two grand kids. They also have a daughter, son in law and two grand kids in the United States.
