The Dardanup Tavern is a historic, character hotel located in the centre of Dardanup. The original hotel was owned by Ellen Coonan and was built of weather-board and iron. It only survived two years from 1903 to 1905 when it was burnt down. The new hotel was built on the same site and opened on 28 June 1905. The first publican was Mr A. E Skipworth.
The little hamlet of Dardanup is also associated with the rebellious Irish Fenian John Boyle O'Reilly. Some locals believe that while on the run, O'Reilly hid in a well next to the Dardanup Hotel. The Dardanup Hotel now displays a beautiful copper mural depicting O'Reilly's escape, including a replicate well in the Hotel's beer garden.
